Text Book Centre Limited (TBC) is an educational supplies conglomerate established in 1964 by two dynamic businessmen, the late Mr. Maneklal Rughani and Mr. S V Bachubhai Shah.

Over the years, TBC has grown tremendously and it is considered one of the best and biggest book-sellers in Africa. Recently TBC has diversified into other products.
However its core activity remains supply of educational and general books, stationery and educational materials to individuals, schools, colleges, universities international organizations and non-government and Government organizations countrywide.
TBC’s state-of-the-art general bookshop located in The Sarit Centre is unique is Africa. It occupies 10,000 sq. ft. of space. This bookshop stocks newly introduced lines of computer supplies, office furniture and mobile phone-related items.
Located on the same floor within The Sarit Centre is TBC’s associate Academic Bookshop (3,000 sq.ft.). Started in 1999, this has created an innovative concept in provision of professional books for individuals in the professions and businesses as well as tertiary colleges and university libraries.
TBC Sports & Hobbies adds more value to the TBC corporate image and specializes in sports, games and toys related items.
TBC has always been active in the society. It sponsored drama festivals for teacher-training colleges and supports a number of events that promote education awareness and improvement. It revived and sponsors the prestigious Jomo Kenyatta Award for Literature, biennial recognition of literary achievement open to Kenyan writers.
Headquartered in five properties on Kijabe Street in the CBD of Nairobi, TBC has a further 6,000 sq. ft. of retail space and 25,000 sq. ft. of wholesale and distribution services giving it unrivalled capacity to meet the demands of Kenya’s vibrant private and Government education sectors.
